Retail Market Lead

The Retail Market Leader will be a leader in the Retail/Branded Environments studio. Success in this role will be measured through: Business Development, Design, Staff Management, Financial Management and Retail Thought Leadership. This candidate must be able to grow the studio through strong design as well as energetic promotion of the studio’s interests, goals, and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing respect and a strong working relationship with employees and leaders of the Firm will be a key success measurement
  • Ensure success of the Retail Market through leadership, strategy, design, and business development
  • The role will guide the business development efforts for the market in partnership with principals and studio leadership, this includes developing and expanding client opportunities and relationships and establishing new relationships with prospective clients on behalf of the firm.
  • Develop personal leadership participation and visibility externally in the Retail market on behalf of our Firm
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for business development, project management, and design services for the market
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the studio’s future leaders, project managers, designers, and project staff

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related design field
  • Professional registration preferred
  • 15+ years of experience, with the majority of experience in retail projects
  • Established credentials in the industry, regarded as an industry design leader
  • Proven ability to develop and expand Accounts
  • Ability to serve as a positive influence who inspires and motivates Team Members
  • Strong business and management acumen with understanding of financials and project budgets
  • Portfolio of completed work in the retail market (Food and Beverage & Financial Services a plus)
  • Ability to bring in and close new business
  • Experience with contract negotiations and project financial planning and scheduling
  • Strong connections in retail, including references
