A long term client of ours has recently opened a Restaurant Interior Designer opportunity for a new restaurant studio the firm has started.This busy and growing studio needs a strong designer, doer who can quickly evaluate, select, perform, and manage multiple restaurant projects both domestically and internationally.
The right candidate will bring a strong work ethic and a strong taste level to this job.To succeed in this role the right candidate will be detail oriented and bring a strong pride in their work and ownership of each project.They must be a seasoned problem solver and be able to solve both design and technical issues as they arise.
Required Work Experience:
- Prepares preliminary design concepts and alternatives for review by senior management
- Leads the selection of FF&E materials, space planning and programming for design projects
- Prepares drawings and documentation for schematic design, design development and construction documents, and FF&E specification phases
- Leads design efforts and coordination with consultants throughout the design process
- Accomplished understanding and display of design principles and theory
- Skillful in all areas of design of restaurant design, planning, lighting, and operations
- Displays strong creative interior design skills including concept development and hand sketching
- Exercises creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials including:
- graphic sketches
- renderings
- graphics and selection of colors
- materials, finishes and furniture
- Experienced in all phases and aspects of the design process including predesign, design documentation, FF&E specifications, construction administration and procurement
- Advanced understanding of color, materials and finishes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in custom, creative restaurant design
- Current registration with NCIDQ or state architectural licensing board strongly preferred
- Experience with LEED® projects, LEED® AP certification preferred
- Knowledge of construction materials, Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) specifications/ providers, particularly as applicable to restaurant design
- Prepares preliminary design concepts and alternatives for review by senior management

- Prepares drawings and documentation for schematic design, design development and construction documents, and FF&E specification phases
- Leads design efforts and coordination with consultants throughout the design process
