It is that time of year.  The team at DBI made our annual trip to the Seattle Gingerbread Village.  This year was the 25th year of the event and the firms and chefs did an outstanding job!

Each year the Seattle Gingerbread Village raises money for JDRF, working to cure Type 1 diabetes.  If you are in the spirit, you can donate here:  Seattle Gingerbread Village.

For now, enjoy the glitter and glisten of this year’s village.  The theme is “25 Years of Cheer: A Celebration of Seattle”.

This 6′ fisherman is covered in thousands of lemon candies, gum, and fondant.

The Seattle Metropolitan’s Logo, in licorice whips.

Here we have Seattle as it was, as it is, and as it may be…in candy.

Details of the city. Jolly Ranchers make for great windows!

Here is our fisherman in full view. Yes, he is riding an Orca that is wrapped in an octopus, with a boat on his shoulders.

Another interpretation of Seattle through the medium of sweets.
