Senior Architect

Austin, TX, United States

Opportunity Snapshot A senior design-and-delivery role for an experienced architect who wants meaningful influence, direct client exposure, multidisciplinary collaboration, and a credible path toward studio, office, and firm leadership. The Austin office is smaller, growing, and supported by a strong book of work.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Designer / Architect to help shape a diverse portfolio that includes clubs and amenities, primary and multifamily housing, resort, and entertainment work. The role is designed for someone who can move comfortably between design thinking, technical execution, project management, client relationships, consultant coordination, and team leadership.

The environment is intentionally less corporate than many larger practices. It is informal, design-focused, collaborative, and highly self-directed. People are encouraged to make their own path, contribute to ideation, work side by side with colleagues, and grow through strong mentorship rather than through a rigid career framework.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Real design influence. The firm values strong design, hand sketching, ideation, and solutions that are unique rather than formulaic.
  • A growing Austin platform. The Austin office is smaller and growing, with a strong book of work and room for an experienced person to have visible impact.
  • Leadership runway. The position can become a track toward studio, office, and firm leadership for a motivated, talented contributor.
  • Broad ownership. Success requires more than production: the role touches project management, client interaction, consultant management, documentation, team leadership, and potentially marketing/business development.
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration. Architecture, landscape architecture, and planning work together, creating exposure to integrated project thinking.
  • Teaching and mentorship culture. The firm describes itself as a teaching environment with a strong mentorship program, annual goal-setting, 360-degree review, and daily check-ins.
  • Career autonomy. Growth is available but not overly structured; people who are self-guided and proactive can build their own path.
