Job Description:

One of the most exciting design offices in San Francisco is looking for an Interior Designer with a strong background in Commercial Design. This office is part of a growing national firm. With a diverse set of clients, this office of 26 is creative, collaborative, problem solving, design focused, and most importantly…fun.

The right candidate will be smart and comfortable thinking on their feet. A driven, goal oriented candidate will thrive in this small but growing office.

Required Work Experience:

•Experience generating program documents through client facing meetings
•Ability to create space plans quickly while ensuring design intent
•Collaboration experience with and lead team members on furniture and finish selection and construction document production. This includes coordinating consultant and vendor drawings
•Comfortable leading and coordinating construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
•Success in managing the client’s expectations, and coordinate team and consultant communications
•Background managing 1-3 team members
•Exposure to Project Management, including: creating project schedules and staffing allocation plans, managing budget and schedule drivers and leading multiple projects simultaneously

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•7-10 years of related experience as an interior designer, with a focus on commercial interiors
•Must be proficient in Revit
•Strong knowledge of the design and documentation process, including FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials
•Outstanding graphic presentation skills
•Willingness to focus on multiple projects in various stages
•Strong conceptual design skills
•Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
•Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
•Knowledge of Autocad, Sketch-up, InDesign and Photoshop
•Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
•Knowledge of local code and permitting requirements
•Business Development experience and local market knowledge
